KEY MESSAGE 1 DESCRIPTION...
A gradient between high pressure over Quebec and Josephine well offshore will persist over the forecast area through Friday morning. Breezy northerly winds continue this evening and will subside some tonight while remaining elevated. Breezy northerly winds combined with cool air will bring sub freezing wind chills to much of the area Friday morning. Winds will start to relax Friday evening as high pressure builds close to overhead. High pressure will center over the area Friday night through Sunday bringing optimal conditions for radiational cooling. This will allow for lows to drop below freezing across the area both Friday and Saturday night. Day time highs will moderate into the 50s Saturday and 60s on Sunday.
High pressure slips south Monday as a dry cold front approaches from the NW. It will be mild Monday ahead of the cold front with highs in the mid to upper 60s south of the mountains. The cold front crosses late Monday with high pressure returning through the balance of next week. This will allow for chilly nights with lows in 20s and sunny but cool days with highs in the 40s and 50s.
Aviation /00Z Friday Through Tuesday/
Through Friday: Gusty N winds around 20 kts continue through tonight at times. Otherwise VFR is expected tonight through Friday.

Marine
High pressure remains in control of the weather pattern across New England, while Subtropical Storm Josephine tracks well outside the Gulf of Maine and through the Grand Banks through Friday. SCA winds in northeasterly flow last through at least Friday, while waves likely persist into the weekend. Northerly Gales are expected outside of the bays through Friday morning as the low deepens east of the waters. Seas then gradually subside through the weekend as high pressure remains in control.
